How do I make a reservation?
After configuration of your training labs is complete, you can simply send us an email with the information required to make a reservation. You will receive a confirmation e-mail including the Booking Reference which you can use as a for updates or cancellations. Our support team will assist you to make sure you receive all the information required to start using Virtual Engine Hosted Labs.
How far in in advance do I have to make a reservation?
We strongly recommend at least one week’s notice. Our data centres are managed on a first come, first serve basis – so the best way to ensure that we have systems available for your training session is to confirm bookings at least a week in advance.
Is there a minimum or maximum reservation time?
The minimum reservation time is one day and there is no maximum reservation time.
What do we need from you to use our service?
We will work with your technical staff to configure the training environment to your requirements. We can import Microsoft Virtual PC, VMware Workstation, VMware ESX/vSphere and XenServer images. Alternatively, you can build your environment directly in our data centre with your own licenses.
How often can I update my lab environment?
You can update your lab environment as often as necessary. Just send us an email notification and we’ll configure administrative access for you to reconfigure or update your lab environment. Once you’re comfortable with the updates, they will be deployed the next time you make a reservation.
What client browsers are supported?
Any browser that supports ActiveX or Java should work. We have verified that the following browsers work:
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
- Firefox 1.5 or higher
- Safari 2.0 or higher
- Google Chrome 5.0 or higher
What client operating systems are supported?
Basically any operating system that supports ActiveX or Java will work. We have specifically tested and certified the following operating systems:
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Mac OS X
What about non-English languages?
The initial web page is displayed in English and a number of foreign languages are supported. We currently support: English, Spanish, German, France, Italian, Dutch and Catalan. More languages will be added in response to customer demand.
How much bandwidth is required?
It is recommended to use high speed Internet access i.e. DSL or cable connection. A dial-up connection will work but the responsiveness will suffer.
Do you provide 24 x 7 support?
Our hosting service includes 24 x 7 x 365 monitoring for effective problem resolution.
